Tamu Pariwar New York Raises Funds for Nepal Flood Victims

Tamu Pariwar New York, Inc. has always stood with Nepal and the Nepali people during times of natural disasters. Following the devastating flash floods near the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26, 2026, members of the Gurung community in New York came together to raise funds to help those affected by the disaster.

The floods caused tragic loss of life and extensive damage to homes, property, and infrastructure. Moved by the suffering of the affected communities, members and well-wishers of Tamu Pariwar New York generously contributed to the relief effort. A total of NPR 1,300,000 (13 lakh Nepali rupees) was collected and donated to the Government of Nepal through the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund to support those affected by the disaster and their recovery.

Mr. Krishna Gurung and Ms. Yang Chung Punel, both well-wishers of Tamu Pariwar New York, helped coordinate the transfer of the collected funds to the Government of Nepal through the Ministry of Finance in Kathmandu.
